Job Description:
As an Irrigation Service Technician for Heroes Lawn Care, you will meet with residential and commercial customers to perform installations, maintenance and repair of irrigation systems. You will use your knowledge and training to make recommendations to customers on additional products and services that may be needed as you complete a 35-point inspection of the property. The Irrigation Service Technician will also identify potential problems, discuss solutions and services with the customer and follow through with customers until all issues are resolved. Finally, the Irrigation Service Technician will work with the General Manager to optimize production efficiency and ensure the highest level of customer service and be effective in scheduling and routes.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct a 35-point inspection of irrigation systems
  • Perform installs, maintenance and repairs of irrigation systems and set up zones for optimal water coverage
  • Demonstrate expertise in maintenance and repair of irrigation systems and related components including irrigation lines, sprinkler heads, control panels, valves, pumps, etc.
  • Teach customers how to use the system in a friendly manner and provide high quality customer service
  • Perform system testing and signal verification via troubleshooting smart/Wi-Fi controllers
  • Interact with customers, colleagues and vendors in a timely and professional manner
  • Monitor and ensure the progress and completion of assigned tasks.
  • Complete and submit all required task-related activities and other documentation in a timely manner.
  • Respond to customers’ requests and complaints, make appropriate recommendations, and advise customers on how to improve their irrigation system.
  • Perform seasonal maintenance of irrigation systems for turn-on and blowouts.
  • Meet or exceed monthly production goals as set by the General Manager
  • Complete cross-training in other departments and provide assistance to other service lines as needed
Qualifications:
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in irrigation industry & related principles/practices
  • Licensed Irrigation Tech or Licensed Irrigation in the state of Arizona
    • CR-21 Hardscaping and Irrigation Systems 
  • Knowledge of tools, equipment, techniques, skills, materials, and mechanics of an irrigation system.
  • Ability to operate equipment such as trenching machines and digging tools related to grounds and landscaping equipment
  • Ability to follow policy and procedures
  • Ability to resolve problems, handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressure
  • Ability to perform with minimum supervision and direction
  • Strong sense of teamwork and communication skills
  • Ability to complete company-sponsored training to enhance knowledge and skills
  • Must have a valid driver’s license, clean driving record and pass an internal insurance background check to operate a company vehicle
  • Detail oriented, organized, and able to keep efficient notes and records
  • Positive attitude, driven, willing to learn and grow professionally

Physical Requirements:
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to:
    • Stand; walk; sit; twist; use hands to handle; reach with hands and arms; push; pull; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.
    • Lift, move, and hold up to approximately 50 lbs.
    • Must be able to work a full-time, flexible schedule with “on call availability” and must be able to travel on short notice.
    • Must be able to drive a motor vehicle (day and evenings) for extended time periods
