Sales/Design Consultant
Salary plus Commission w/ Unlimited Commission Structure

Bumble Bee Blinds is the fastest growing window covering business (blinds, shutters, shades, draperies and outdoor screens) in the country and Bumble Bee Blinds of Birmingham is looking to grow with the right person for our newest Design Consultant opportunity.   

As a design consultant at Bumble Bee Blinds, you will be responsible for selling window covering products and installation services to residential and commercial clients in and around the Birmingham area. You will help build a clientele, drive sales revenue and back the company on standards, quality, and professionalism. A successful design consultant will be highly ambitious, hold oneself to high customer service standards while being honest, detail-oriented, organized, creative, and very personable. You will use your strong listening and communication skills, as well as intellectual capital and a sales driven mindset to present innovative solutions to prospective customers. 

In this full-time employment role, you’ll spend your days making the homes and workspaces of our clients more beautiful, functional, and comfortable by building a network of leads and referrals as well as servicing the qualified leads that our award-winning marketing team generates. Sales and Design Consultant Core Responsibilities: 
  • Live our values of Integrity, Professionalism and Commitment to Excellence in order to drive a Superior Client Experience
  • Arrive on time to work and any/all appointments and meetings.
  • Build and nurture strong networking relationships with new clients, existing clients, interior designers, realtors, and builders in the market.
  • Schedule and perform in-home consultations, provide estimates and customer instruction on various window covering options and functionality.
  • Expertly match our diverse products and services to clients needs
  • Successfully close business by demonstrating our unique Value Proposition and building trust and credibility with clients
  • Provide high-level customer service and timely follow-up in a friendly and professional manner for both internal and external clients
  • Responsible for maintaining, updating, and communicating client data, project status, and job details in the CRM.
  • Utilizes customer information, materials, and support to ensure efficient execution of assigned tasks.
  • Completes and submits all required task-related activities, productivity, and other documentation in a timely manner.
  • Meet work standards by following production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards. 
  • Monitor and review all work orders to ensure customer expectations are met in a timely manner.
  • Maintain constant communication between all departments, as well as customers, on current work orders. 
  • Manage and maintain daily sales reporting.
  • Collect balances due once work is completed and customer satisfaction met.
  • Participate in regular sales meetings, webinars, and trainings.
Sales and Design Consultant Required Qualifications: 
  • Availability for full-time position - Mon-Fri with potential for some Saturdays by appt (no Sundays)
  • Minimum of High School Diploma or GED. 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.  
  • Very detail oriented, organized, and can keep efficient notes and records. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including an understanding of basic grammar and writing. 
  • High energy, positive attitude, and forward thinking. 
  • Strong team player and the ability to communicate and excel in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Meet or exceed sales goals consistently by leveraging your passion for design.
  • Expresses thoughts, ideas, concerns in a positive, respectful and productive manner 
  • 1+ years of experience in self-generated lead sales, commercial sales, or customer service.
Sales and Design Consultant Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Previous Window Covering Sales/Service Experience helpful (but not required)
  • Must be able to demonstrate willingness to be flexible and adapt to change. 
  • Must be able to resolve problems, handle conflict and make effective decisions under pressure. 
  • Strong working knowledge of common computer software including but not limited to: MS Outlook, Word, Excel, CRM.
