Lead Light Technician
Lighting Technician Experience Required

Lead Light Technician Pay: $25 - $30 per hour (based on candidate experience) + commission

Lead Light Technician Requirements:   
  • High school diploma or GED required 
  • Valid Virginia Driver’s License 
  • 2+ Years experience in Lighting Installation
  • Strong communication and people skills   
  • Good organizational skills 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment 
  • Employment is contingent upon passing a background check including motor vehicle record and references
  • Must be comfortable with some sales
About the Lead Light Technician role
The Lead Technician is responsible for the installation of lighting products while maintaining a safe and professional standard. Lead Technicians will have communication with designer and the customer to maintain the scope of the project. Lead Technicians will help create and inspire customers with designs and match up the correct product that capture the essence of the event/setting that is being Blingle’d!  In addition, they will oversee installations, any trouble shooting and all regular maintenance on the lighting systems on our maintenance plans.   The focus is to develop and maintain long-term relationships with new and existing clients. The Lead technician is an important member of our team and must be able to work to develop a deep understanding of customer requirements. They will also create & present winning sales proposals.


Essential Functions of the Lead Light Technician:  
Key Responsibilities:  
  • Experience in landscape lighting, or irrigation installation 
  • Manage multiple crew members and keep them professional and on task
  • Meet with homeowners/business owners to plan design for lighting installation 
  • Enter information into company software to capture job details and special notes for the installation crew. 
  • Capture specific information about the home, including measurements, and take photos to document the project. 
  • Create an estimate and an official proposal for the customer that includes a recommendation and an upgrade option whenever possible. 
  • Complete required paperwork with customer, including any down payment needed. 
  • Follow up with customer the day after the job is completed to check customer satisfaction. 
  • Develop relationships with influential professionals in your area with a goal of providing work for their friends, family, clients, etc. 
  • Participate in home shows and other marketing activities with the goal of developing leads and selling Blingle! services. 
  • Track KPI’s and share with Lighting Project Manager/Owner. 
  • Drive van/trailer safely and according to local regulations
  • Review job(s) for the day based on work orders
  • Creative mindset and can come up with innovative solutions to unique problems   
  • Confirm that van/trailer is prepared for the day including the following:
    • All lighting for each project to be completed that day
    • Additional lighting materials as needed
    • Equipment, tools and ladders needed
    • Fuel
  • Be able to function in all Blingle software and their best practices   
  • Responsible for ensuring crew production and safety to Blingle standard  
  • Assess the job and determine proper start location
  • Complete work as described in work order
  • Complete any on-site cleanup needed
  • Complete final walkthrough on-site with customer  
  • Complete any required record keeping and submit receipts as relevant
Lead Light Technician Work Environment: 
This job operates outdoors and can be subject to weather conditions.  


Lead Light Technician Position Type/Expected hours worked: 
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days can depend on seasonal activity and customer availability. Typical hours are Monday thru Friday 8 am to 5 pm, could require evening and weekend availability.  Overtime as needed. Regular, punctual, and consistent attendance is required. 


Lead Light Technician Physical Demands:
  • This position is the backbone of our organization and integral to our future success. Lead Technicians/Sale consultant are responsible for reporting to Managing Technician and owners, traveling to job sites to install/test equipment, troubleshoot problems as needed, and clean up after job completion. Required to lift up to 50 lbs regularly & repeatedly and must be able to stand/walk for up to 10 hours per day. Will be working outdoors in all weather conditions.
